If there’s one thing you have<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0to try to see this spring, it’s the incredible, immersive Infinity Mirrors<\/strong><\/em><\/a><\/strong> installation by Japanese artist Yayoi Kusama, now on at the Art Gallery of Ontario<\/a>.<\/p>\n Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors<\/em> provides visitors with the unique opportunity to experience six of Kusama\u2019s most iconic kaleidoscopic environments at once, alongside large-scale installations, paintings, sculptures and works on paper that span from the early 1950s to the present.<\/p>\n The expansive exhibition also marks the North American debut of numerous new works by the 87-year-old artist, who is still actively creating in her Tokyo studio.<\/p>\n Organized in rough chronological order, Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors<\/em> range from a dense and dizzying field of hundreds of red-spotted phallic tubers in a room lined with mirrors (Phalli\u2019s Field<\/em>), to spectacular LED environments, filled with lanterns or crystalline balls that seem to extend into infinite space (Aftermath of Obliteration of Eternity<\/em> and Souls of Millions of Light Years Away<\/em> \u2013 pictured above).<\/p>\n Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirrors<\/em> runs at the Art Gallery of Ontario March 3 to May 27. Due to the insane demand, there will be a very limited number of same-day timed tickets released at the AGO each day at 10:00 am.
