Hot ticket: Canadian International Autoshow

The problem with February is that it’s the longest-shortest month. Beyond the hullaballoo of New Year’s Eve/Day and Valentine’s Day and the impending arrival of Spring, there’s not a helluva whole lot to do.

Enter the Canadian International Autoshow – or just “the autoshow” for short.

Every year, big crowds converge on every floor of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in order to experience the many attractions the show has to offer. This year’s awesome line up includes:

eSports Arena: this new attraction puts participants of all skill levels to the test as they compete against one another in Forza Motorsport 7, the premiere racing game on the Xbox One platform.

70 Years of Porsche: this feature display celebrates the evolution of Porsche over the past 70 years by bringing together five classic Porsche models.

And last, but not least:

50 Years of Hot Wheels: this year, the number one selling toy in the world is joining with the Canadian International AutoShow in presenting an explosion of activities to commemorate its 50th anniversary.

The not-to-be-missed attraction features a Hot Wheels super track, a dedicated display area featuring Hot Wheels collector cars, plus six life-size Hot Wheels cars, including the Darth Vader car and the 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS.

Also cool: visitors to the AutoShow who upload images to social media accounts with the tag #HotWheels50 and #ChallengeAccepted will receive a free die-cast vehicle by visiting one of the Brand Ambassadors at the Hot Wheels exhibit on the 700 level of the show.

On top of these feature displays, there are more than 1,000 vehicles on display, 41 of which are making either their North American or Canadian debuts.

You “auto” go.

The Canadian International AutoShow is being held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre between February 16th and 25th. Visit autoshow.ca for more information.
