Easy festive kitchen decor ideas

When you’re decorating for the holidays, how many of you include the kitchen? With the exception of all of the festive meal prep, the busiest room of the house tends to get overlooked when the bells, boughs and tinsel come out for the holidays. Here are a few easy ways to get your kitchen in style in time for a visit with Saint Nick:

Make light of it

Use bows or small garlands to jazz up your lights (just be sure to keep them away from bulbs or direct heat)..

Counter culture

Give your counter some love with a display of mixed elements like pinecones, burlap or raffia ribbon and a few small clippings from winter trees. Place them in a small bowl or cake stand for a pretty and festive display.

Cover them up

Cover chairs with red, white or green pillowcases, and tie with ribbon at the base of each seat. Or,

Deck them out

Use command hooks to hang small wreaths or other holiday-themed ornamentation on the backs of chairs. Tie together bells, bows and little sprigs of holly.

Get the word out

Print and frame festive words and phrases like “joy” or “t’is the season” to hang above windows or place on vacant shelves. Surround with ornaments or garlands.

Strings and things

Hang icicle lights or fairy lights from curtain rods. Or simply replace your ordinary drapes with simple red panels and tie back with red and white ribbon. Accent with tree ornaments.

And there you have it! A kitchen fit for Christmas!
